This was the night of the SpringWave concert at the Meadows. At the Lion Grove, the SuperTrees were lighted up at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm as part of the nightly OCBC Rhapsody. The view of the MBS looks splendid from where I was.
The TulipMania in the Flower Dome is posted in many forums such as The Straits Times, 8 Days etc and it will be coming to an end in a week's time. This is a collaboration with KLM to feature a range of premium tulips from as far away as Amsterdam (Netherlands/Holland).
This is the first time in Singapore that we are featuring tulips of this scale and duration. The multitude of colours and variety of the tulips on display is a crowd puller for visitors to Gardens by the Bay.
This movie about the famous and patriotic Yang General and his family has a Hong Kong, Taiwan and China cast ranging from Adam Cheng, Xu Fan, Ekin Cheng, Vic Chou, Raymond Lam, Wu Chun to Fu Xinbo. However, it wasn't very impressive and ended with the return of only one son without his father and 6 other brothers.
These photos were taken a few weeks back of the Cloud Forest and the amazing plants. The train station looked set to be in operation.
I have been very lazy lately and didn't post much. Even this movie I watched a few weeks ago did not motivate me to do anything.
Starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman, this small cast movie was set in the future 2077 where Jack Harper is one half of a pair of repairmen with Victoria, helping the space station Tet to guard a sector of a futuristic earth against destruction by aliens known as Scavs. Their daily job involves checking out the sector and repairing the drones that malfunction within.
The problem was, Jack and Victoria's memories were erased and Jack has fragments of memories of a woman from a past unknown to him. His coincidental encounter with this woman Julia jolted him out of his senses.
The movie seemed to be suspended in limbo and there was little to save it from oblivion.
Many of the deciduous Cannonball Trees in the gardens shed its crown of green leaves under the sweltering heat of the day but those in the SuperTree Grove had those leaves intact, except for this one particular individual which decided enough was enough. Within a matter of days, the leaves of this tree took on a bronzy colour and shed the leaves wave after wave with each gust of wind until the crown was completely bare.
When the rains came soon after, the new crown of fresh young leaves quickly took over.
The Lychee sapling has grown very much and put out lots of new leaves since it was planted at the Indian Garden.
The climber Passiflora growing on the Fruits and Flowers trellis have been fruiting for some time now.
Then there is the orange-flower bare crown Firmiana malayana (Common Name: Bullock's Eye, Mata Lembu; Family: Sterculiaceae) tree at the courtyard of the Indian Garden. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to go back to take the fully opened flowers.
It is not very difficult to get double-petaled Lotus these days and here is a blooming white double-petaled Lotus.
