BAY EAST

After the recent haze and sudden rain, the plants along the Skyline Promenade of Bay East are flowering again. The entire length of the promenade is now covered with vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet from the rainbow and salmon, pink and silver.

The flowering would not last forever and would likely persist for another week or so.

BONSAI AND BUTTERFLY

This is a collection of beautiful bonsais at the Hougang Swimming Pool. On the way home, I saw a Plain Tiger butterfly resting on the flower of the Caesalpinia pulcherrima (Common Name: Peacock Flower).

HAZE

This was the day when the haze was so bad that the PSI reached 400 and Marina Bay Sands and Bay East completely disappeared from our view hours later.

Everywhere was depressingly quiet and the gardens was like a ghost town shrouded in a fog, albeit one with a burnt smell in the air.

However, I did find some brief joy in a flowering Bougainvillea at the Secret Life of Trees at the World of Plants and the flowering orange Zephyranthes at the Chinese Garden courtyard of the Heritage Gardens.

HORTPARK

I haven't been to HortPark for some time but was there recently and took some of these photos of the Butterfly Garden, Floral Stitches, Recycling Garden, Silver Garden and industry partners' gardens.
