BRACKET FUNGUS

These are overlapping bracket fungi of various ages on the base or collar of this tree. The newly bloomed ones are lighter and brighter in colour while the more aged ones are darker and closer to the colour of the tree trunk.


When these appear, it is a manifestation or sign of internal decay within the tree. Judging from the amount of bracket fungi here, it is definitely not a good sign.
