PHILODENDRON SUBGENUS MECONOSTIGMA

 Today's weather - sunny
This is a photo of a Philodendron (Family: Araceae). And just today, I read of a Philodendron subgenus Meconostigma. To find out more about this subgenus, I think the book "Aroids: Plants of the Arum Family" by Deni Bown can shed some light on it since there seems to be little information on the web on this subgenus.

ALOCASIA MACRORRHIZOS 'METALLICA'

This is one beautiful aroid from the Araceae Family with large leaves and deep green-magenta petioles. The contrast between its leaves, petioles and the variegated-leaved Agave is incredible.

AROID

This is quite an unusual and interesting aroid that I saw at the Singapore Botanic Garden's 2nd level of the Botany Centre. I wasn't sure if it is an Anthurium or Philodendron but I think it is the former.

MONSTERA DELICIOSA

This clump of Swiss Cheese Plant from the Araceae Family is so beautiful. Yes, there is no mistake in the most common name of this aroid and the name is derived from its split leaves and natural holes in the leaves. Other common names include Split-Leaf Philodendron, Fruit Salad Plant, Monster Fruit etc.

This particular plant was flowering as shown in the 3rd photo and a link is attached below:
