The first 'Jurassic Park' movie came out in 1994 and I absolutely loved it. Two movies later, it ended its run in 'Jurassic Park III' in 2001.

14 years later, I was so looking forward to watch this 2015 movie, especially when it starred the smothering hot Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. This movie could be considered as a sequel to the original movies because the settings and scenes were all from the original Isla Nublar and I am very heartened and thrilled that the makers of this movie Universal Pictures took all the trouble to draw links between the old and new movies. This is really a movie with a heart.

Chris was Owen Grady, a specialized trainer of velociraptors and Bryce was Claire Dearing, the Operations Manager of the revamped Jurassic World. Irrfan Khan, actor from "The Life of Pi" and B.D. Wong, the only cast from the first movie who played the same role, are the other key actors.

So I must say I utterly enjoyed this movie very much and the success formula from the original movies was refreshing in this day and age of CGIs and the good script with genetically hybrids of dinosaurs, which remind one of the perils of playing god, was definitely one of the key ingredients of this box office hit. However, I feel the casting of Bryce was not one of the better choices because she seemed to be forgettable.

I certainly hope there is another sequel.

THE GREAT GATSBY

Actually, I watched this movie about 2 or 3 weeks back. Based on a novel and starring the talented Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher, the movie tells a tale of love set in the year 1922.

The protagonist was alcoholic Nick played by Tobey, who moved in next to the mansion of the mysterious Jay Gatsby played by Leonardo, who threw regular extravagant parties even though none of the guests had met Gatsby themselves. As the story unfolded, Nick learnt that Jay did all the things he did for one thing - to get re-acquainted with his love Daisy, whom he first met in 1917 but was later already married and lived on the other side of the bay.

The ending is a tragic one and all the actors and actresses put up a good performance to pull this movie off.

One other notable thing worth mentioning are the songs performed by Lana Del Rey, which were hauntingly apt for the movie and beautiful and I attached below the theme song "Young and Beautiful".

BACHELORETTE

This movie was compared to "Bridesmaids" by numerous sources. Starring Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan, Isla Fisher, Rebel Wilson, James Marsden, Adam Scott, Kyle Bornheimer and Andrew Rannells, this story is about a super-sized girl Becky who's getting married, much to the surprise of her bff Regan and other friends Gena and Katie, who were all roped in to be bridesmaids on her wedding day.

Kirsten Dunst was Regan, who was downright irritating. I didn't like Kirsten as Mary Jane in the Spiderman movies, and neither did I like her as a foul-mouthed, selfish and hypocritical girl friend of the so-called "pig-face" Becky of their high school class. The insecure Becky got Regan to be her chief bridesmaid to help organize her bachelorette party and wedding reception, but the latter with her pot-smoking friends Gena and Katie almost screwed up her wedding.

Fortunately, it all ended on a happy note although I wasn't too thrilled by it. I think, no I most definitely feel, that "Bridesmaids" has a much better storyline with more humour. What struck me when Kirsten and James first appeared on the scenes were how much they seemed to have aged. They no longer looked youthful with their now sagging facial skin and loss in mass. But then again, it is also happening to me. Time and tide really waits for no man.
