One of my favourite gardens in HortPark has always been the Lifestyle Corner. The design and decor have changed drastically since the park was opened and there are lots of ideas for the public to take home for gardening at home.
The barcode design at the Courtyards is also updated with a new look, which is presumably less maintenance intensive.

LIFESTYLE CORNER
If some of the items on display look familiar, that is because they were salvaged from the Hort Excellence booth at level 4 of the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) in July 10.

IPOMOEA LOBATA
My colleague gave me a young Ipomoea lobata recently and I gladly accepted it because of the unusual flowers that look different from the typical bell-shaped flowers characterized by Ipomoea.
I first saw it a few months ago when this colleague grew it and displayed it at HortPark's Lifestyle Corner. It was just so breathtakingly gorgeous with its numerous varied coloured flowers. Unfortunately, this plant does not seemed to produce any fruits or seeds that we can collect.
This first photo was taken on 2 Jan 10 when the first of a cluster of flowers appeared. Noticed the red flower which would eventually turn orange to yellow as shown in the attached photos.
The second photo was taken on 8 Jan 10 and the newly opened flowers were already showing shades of red, orange and yellow as they aged. Compare the size, colour and shape of these flowers with the typical bell-shaped purple flower of the Ipomoea morning glory that was grown in the same pot. The non-flowering Mexican Flame Vine is in the background.

The third and fourth photos were taken today.
