RABBIT BRAND

We ordered this lunch spread at the Rabbit Brand seafood restaurant at Circular Road. They use a lot of oyster sauce and mushrooms in their dishes and if one loves to eat seafood such as shark's fins and abalones, then this is a restaurant worth trying out.

WHITE MUSHROOMS

It was again another mushroom galore and this time, there were several clumps of them.

Weren't they just beautiful?

MUSHROOMS

When I first saw the mushrooms, they looked so fresh but it was raining heavily, so I could not take its photos.

On the second day when I took these photos, the mushroom caps were already splitting and starting to dry up. Nevertheless, they were still so pretty to look at. In fact, they looked so mouth-watering that I wish I could also fry them for lunch!

FUNGI

It was a day of mushrooms and bird nest fungi sightseeing. They were sprouting almost everywhere with all the rains, especially at areas where there were organic wood mulches.

There could be 2 types of basidiomycetes and 1 type of agaricomycetes shown here. I am not sure if the former is actually the same type but darkens with age or they are distinctively different species. The latter is the much smaller bird nest fungi within the same pile of mulch as the white mushrooms. However, there were no apparent "eggs" in the nest.

2 links on fungi are shown below:

MUSHROOMS

What is like to be a mushroom, especially when they live for days and weeks only.

And what is it like to live in the world of mushrooms, from the view of ants and other creatures smaller than them?

These white mushrooms must have come from the pile of mulch that was recently spread at the site.

MUSHROOMS

I saw these huge mushrooms on the way out for lunch the other day. They reminded me of the soft leather mushroom corals that I used to have in my marine aquarium.

But then again, they also reminded me remotely of the brain or even a loaf of bread. How I wish the mushroom was edible because it certainly made me feel hungry.

DRACAENA FRAGRANS & MEAL

We made our way for our lunch meal and there was when I saw the very tall Dracaena fragrans (common name: Chinese Money Tree) from the Ruscaceae Family in flower. I have not seen the plants with such an extent of flowering back home. A link of the vast range of D. fragrans is attached below:

And that was one unforgettable meal too. Until now, I still cannot forget the fried mushrooms and I still dream of it once in a while. To me, it was that nice. As for the rest of the dishes, I don't quite remember the taste of them.
