I was told these palms below the Pasir Panjang viaduct are Euterpe species (Family: Arecaceae), although I am not sure if it is the E. oleracea?Apparently, this is a palm that grows in swamps and floodplains, so it is good for planting in wet soils or riversides. The genus is so named after the muse of Greek mythology and a link is provided below for reference:
