I recently noticed this interesting monopodial growth habit plant with red basal leaf sheath and when I looked closely, I found it was clasping onto the trunk of the Delonix regia. I wonder what is the plant?
NB on 1 Apr 11: I suddenly recalled a few days ago that this unknown plant is the Freycinetia after a colleague helped to refresh my memory. This was a plant I saw in Chiang Mai. It is called the Climbing Pandanus. A link on this interesting genus is shown here:
