A friend asked me to quit my job and set up a company to sell terrariums more than a decade ago but I was too chickened to try it out. I am still not convinced today that the market is big enough for it to be a lucrative business.
As for the japanese marimo balls, they are gaining popularity and are sold in such containers with water or even in fish tanks.
