STRELITZIA REGINAE 'MANDELA'S GOLD'

Two of the Yellow Bird-Of-Paradise were born and they would be proudly showing off their crowns soon. From the Strelitziaceae Family, this is a cultivar of the Strelitzia reginae.

Its other common names include Yellow Strelitzia and Yellow Crane Flower. The cultivar appears to be smaller, more vibrantly coloured and free-flowering compared to the species form.

PARADISE

The Bird-of-Paradise at the Heliconia Walk appeared ready to take its flight on 12 Jan 10 with its crown and beak pointed in the heavenly direction and its wings all outspread, leaving behind a bed of its white pebbled eggs?

This cultivar Strelitzia reginae 'Mandela' is supposedly more free-flowering than its species.
