I am not sure but could this be a juvenile Javan Munia (scientific name: Lonchura leucogastroides) since the plumage on its belly does not quite resemble that of the adult? I think it was perched on a Gardenia gjellerupii (common name: Thai Gardenia). A link on the plant is provided below:05 April 2011
