BIRDS

I don't know when these Flamingoes were put in but it goes to show how long ago I haven't been to Changi City Point.

Other than these rotating Flamingoes with really long legs, which I find very interesting and lovely, there were lots of towering cranes in the vicinity. So this is a great place for bird watching. How I wish we have similar stuff in the gardens.

NATIONAL BIRD OR MAMMAL

I always remember some of the jokes my university lecturer used to tell. For instance, he asked us to guess what is our national bird but no one knew. No one had ever heard or known of a national bird of Singapore.

Guess what? He said our national bird is the crane because it is found everywhere. Corny? Maybe, but it is absolutely true. Everywhere one goes or turns in the urban area, there is inevitably a construction crane in sight.

Looking at these tall cranes on my way to work, somehow it looks like we have a national mammal instead. They remind me of giraffes.

SENTOSA - PART 15

This is the last post on Sentosa! Finally.

We went to the monorail station at the Beach Station and I am always very amazed by their very pristine looking and caterpillar free Crinum xanthophyllum (common name: Gold-Leaf Crinum Lily; Family: Amaryllidaceae). A link on the plant is shown below.

With that, I was on my way back to VivoCity and was greeted by a huge paper crane pieced together by smaller multi-coloured paper cranes.
