GINNY AND SANDY

Ginny and Sandy tried to hide among the Sedums.
These are a couple more shots of Ginny and Sandy visiting a plant nursery with me, taking photo with our National Orchid and having some cake and coffee.
Then they tried to blend in with the cacti.

Next they sneaked into the grove of Selaginellas.

Ginny seemed to camouflage herself better than Sandy.

Sandy and Ginny were amazed by the size of the Hibiscus moscheutos.

They were having a fun time climbing up and down the Curcuma bracts.

Here's them posing with the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

Ginny is more camera shy than Sandy.

It's coffee time!

They were excited at visiting Compass Point.

HERCULES

I watched "Hercules" yesterday and I was plain bored throughout the movie. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, Reece Ritchie, John Hurt, it wasn't a story about a legendary half man half god character.

It went against the tales we knew of and tried to dispel the myth that Hercules was the son of Zeus and instead portrayed him as just a man with great strength, courage and wits. Whatever we heard of his prowess and abilities were the result of him and his team of 4 behind him.

I personally preferred the Kellan Lutz version because it stayed more true to the original. This one was just plain dull, even the battle scenes could not jolt me up from my stupor.

GINNY AND SANDY

Ginny and Sandy at PS outside the shop where I bought them.
I suddenly had an idea yesterday and bought these two doggies at Plaza Singapura. One represents my former mixed terrier Ginny and one represents my current chihuahua Sandy. I am still looking for a miniature Maltese to represent my former dog Bell.

I intend to bring them to places they have never been. This is also one of my own way of remembering my past two dear darlings.

VERTICAL GREENERY

I saw a map of the Taipei airport in the form of vertical greenery in Taiwan last year but now there is a world map in the same form at the on the pedestrian level of Ocean Building above the Raffles Place MRT near the underpass leading to NTUC Centre.

Vertical greenery is also slowly creeping into buildings, as evident by stores such as the following.

MOTH

The Chinese used to say that if one sees a moth, it means a dear relative who has passed on is back to visit the living. There were lots of sightings of moths all over the island recently. Judging by the numbers, could it mean many of our relatives are back? I absolutely don't think so.

WORLD OF PLANTS

World of Palms
This is the area of the World of Plants that straddled the World of Palms and Secret Life of Trees. I am happy that it almost looks well-covered by established plants. Even though it is predominantly green, the textures are really different.

HUGH JACKMAN

Hugh Jackman, the Wolverine, dropped by the Gardens by the Bay and went into the Flower Dome to catch a glimpse of the floral display. Attached are photos taken by staff and not by me.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

I was looking forward to watch this movie but I must say I was disappointed by it. Starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell and so on, it continues from the 2011 movie "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" starring Andy Serkis and James Franco.

It was quite a long movie and the story took place in San Francisco, ten years after the Simian Flu Virus that escaped from a research facility following the first movie spread throughout the world. Caesar, the leader of the Apes, and his community had not seen humans since two winters ago and thought all of mankind perished until they came across a few human survivors led by Jason Clarke's Malcolm. The storyline was weak and didn't quite pick up after that and it was a letdown all the way to the end, even with Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman around.

The ending was once again open-ended, possibly as a lead up to any possible sequel. However, judging from this movie, I doubt the box-office takings would be optimistic enough to warrant a continuation of the this movie. Thank goodness James Franco didn't act in this movie.

LANDSCAPE

Amongst the shades of green, three colours stand out - pink, orange and yellow, to provide an interesting composition.

DUSK

The sundown in Singapore hardly gives the same effect as those in some overseas countries.
