LANDSCAPE

Amongst the shades of green, three colours stand out - pink, orange and yellow, to provide an interesting composition.

HIBISCUS

I had a field day photographing various Hibiscus flowers with shades of yellow through chrome yellow to vermilion. These shrubs are simply amazing!

BANDSTAND AND SAMANEA SAMAN (YELLOW)

This is the iconic grand bandstand at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The area around it was planted with the Yellow Rain Trees for some time now but these trees and the yellow theme accentuated the simple beauty of this garden structure.

PLUMERIA CULTIVAR

It is more common to see pink or red flower frangipani trees but I have a penchant for yellow flower ones. This young one beside the Marina Bay MRT exit looks amazing with an understated beauty. What struck me was also how healthy the leaves looked compared to the other many cultivars with scales, mealy bugs and rust infected leaves.

I will be more than happy to introduce this to a garden without hesitation.

YELLOW

This is a road with a yellow or golden theme, meant for royalty? Isn't it just simple yet beautiful?

WEED

This is the yellow flowering weed that I posted previously. In these photos, the whole plant is seen, especially the leaves and flower peduncle. Sometimes, we should be as resilient as weeds, so that we can thrive in the harshest environment against all odds.

YELLOW

Yellow, a colour that I really love, was the theme of the day.

I do not know what is the tree with yellow flowers. Could it be a Tabebuia? Anyway, the trumpet-shaped flowers are beautiful.

The 4th photo showed the split-fruit of the Gardenia tubifera, where the unripe green fruit was shown in the same photo towards the top right-hand side.

There were 3 yellow plants in the 5th photo. In the foreground, there was the fine needle-like leaved Melaleuca bracteata 'Revolution Gold' on the left and the big-leaved Pisonia alba on the right. Towards the center looked like the yellow-flower but green-leaved Cassia surattensis.

The last photo showed the same Cassia that was pruned and trained as a standard plant.
