These white flower weeds are clamouring over the Murraya shrubs at my neighbourhood park. It would be gone someday. But meanwhile its spreading across the shrubs like a carpet.
There is so much beauty in this simple weed growing in the crevice on the concrete floor. This is nature's art.
These are clumps of a Torenia weed which I find interesting. Maybe someday it can be used as an ornamental plant in waterlogged areas.
This is not the first time I saw this weed. Previously, I saw it covering a big patch of turf in the rain gardens of Bay East. Although the white Gomphrena-like flowers are small, they are so lovely that I think they have a potential to be an ornamental groundcover.
These are two beautiful unknown weeds, at least to me. I would definitely keep them because I feel they have potential to be ornamental plants.
Sadly, the first one growing among the Star Grass (Scientific Name: Dichromena colorata) was already removed.
As for the second one which looks like a Torenia to me, I managed to harvest some of them for planting in waterlogged areas and they are doing well. I hope to see a nice carpet in time to come.
These are some of the beautiful plants, which range from weeds, ferns, trees and climbers.
The first is a weed that I have seen before but am not familiar with its name. The second is the Microsorum punctatum with amazingly artistic leaves with prominent midribs. The third is an interesting Macaranga with red inflorescences and flowers. The last two are the climbers Aristolochia with trumpet-shaped flowers and an unknown ivy-like plant with strange knobby extensions which help the plant to attach itself to the smooth surface wall.
They are all beautiful in their own way. Such is nature's art.
NB on 28 Jan 13: I found out that the unknown creeper is Parthenocissus tricuspidata (Common Name: Japanese Ivy, Grape Ivy, Boston Ivy; Family: Vitaceae) from the grape family.
I recently realized I had a lot of photos in my camera's hard disk because on the few occasions when I forgot to put in the memory card, the camera continued to take the photos and I totally forgot about them until recently, that is. Only when the camera indicated that the memory was full that I knew of all these "hidden" photos.
So here I am posting these photos, starting with this one on an interesting legume weed I saw almost a year ago.
And the island in the last photo no longer looked like that a year later. The turf is completely covered up with shrubs now. Too bad I don't have the photos to compare the difference.
