NEIGHBOURHOOD GARDEN

I have not been to this area of the neighbourhood until recently and my oh my. The uncle has expanded his garden and he has planted many more varieties of Hibiscus and other plants.

I chatted with him and he told me that the Town Council was happy with his work and bought more plants for him to plant up.

the Town Council did a terrible job of lifting the crown of this beloved Sterculia

the sad looking crown

a year ago, they lifted the crowns of these Juniperus trees

I am pretty sure they will cite safety as the reason

CLEMENCEAU AVE NORTH

Eleven years after we moved out from here, the place is still intact and looked the same as before. But the once new playground looked dirty.

CHRISTMAS 2015 AND CHINESE NEW YEAR 2016

Maybe the recent Christmas decoration at Bugis Junction and Chinese New Year decoration at Plaza Singapura can give some inspiration for our future displays.

SG50 SITE

the Lecythis with the pots
It was the first time I explored the landscape area outside the SG50 exhibition site and I discovered some interesting stuff.

There were a few Lecythis ollaria (Common Name: Monkey Pot Tree) trees in that area and one of them was with a lot of monkey pots!

I was also pleasantly surprised to find a raised bed of Alpinia purpurata under full sun. Although the leaves were not a dark green, but they look relatively healthy and carried numerous red inflorescences.

SUPERTREE GROVE

The Supertree Grove is one of the key areas of Gardens by the Bay. The view from the Skywalk is also amazing with the fan-shaped palms. And I love the Bauhinia galpinii and variegated Canna at the Discovery slope.
