PRINCESS

My sweet little Princess Sandy has nightmares quite frequently. When she is having it, she will whimper in her sleep. I wonder what she dreams of.

GINNY AND SANDY

Ginny and Sandy tried to hide among the Sedums.
These are a couple more shots of Ginny and Sandy visiting a plant nursery with me, taking photo with our National Orchid and having some cake and coffee.
Then they tried to blend in with the cacti.

Next they sneaked into the grove of Selaginellas.

Ginny seemed to camouflage herself better than Sandy.

Sandy and Ginny were amazed by the size of the Hibiscus moscheutos.

They were having a fun time climbing up and down the Curcuma bracts.

Here's them posing with the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

Ginny is more camera shy than Sandy.

It's coffee time!

They were excited at visiting Compass Point.

GINNY AND SANDY

Ginny and Sandy at PS outside the shop where I bought them.
I suddenly had an idea yesterday and bought these two doggies at Plaza Singapura. One represents my former mixed terrier Ginny and one represents my current chihuahua Sandy. I am still looking for a miniature Maltese to represent my former dog Bell.

I intend to bring them to places they have never been. This is also one of my own way of remembering my past two dear darlings.

SANDY

Sandy loves to nap and this is how she looked when she is half asleep.

SANDY

Guess what Sandy is doing? This is her pose whenever she does her big business. Please don't think that she looks all shy, cute, cuddly and sweet. She can turn into a crazy bitch in a matter of seconds. I have seen it myself when she is meek one second but snares and snaps at another person or dog when a trigger is activated.

FISH EYE: PRINCESS

This was a trial photo shoot of my little princess Sandy using the fish eye lens. She had absolutely no idea what was happening.

SANDY

It always comes across to me that my Princess looks like a mousedeer although someone called her Yoda before. Well, her beautiful, shiny black orbs are so full of life, even when she looks at me suspiciously.

SANDY

Today's weather - sunny
These photos were taken on 11 Oct 2008, the day when I first met Princess Sandy. She was about 1 year old then.

I brought her home to meet the Paw Prince. Along the journey, she was rather quiet and stared out of the car window. And no, she didn't laugh hysterically but I managed to take a photo of her yawning. The way she slept was so peaceful, without nary a care in the world. Before this, I was told she was caged up almost the entire day without stepping out of the small cage, which was her home.

Till today, she is still quite timid and is easily frightened by loud noises.

SANDY

Today's weather - sunny
A few days ago was Bell's death anniversary and now the princess has taken over his place.

Well, she loves to perch herself on my lap and lazily rest her chin on the side handle of my armchair as I type away on my laptop. Frankly, this is a very uncomfortable position for me because I have to be careful how I sit and sometimes she would interfere with my typing when she becomes restless.

PRINCESS SANDY

These photos were not taken after her frightful night at the fireworks. So she wasn't screaming in fear and resting to recover from the incident.

They were in fact taken on 23 Jan 12. She doesn't like to look at the camera because of the flashlight and was taking a nap on the sofa with her favourite piglet.

BAY EAST - FIREWORKS

After the fireworks the night before, there was a larger crowd on the night of 4 Feb 12, who came in anticipation of the spectacular fireworks. This has become a popular place for the crowds to gather to see the fireworks fired into the sky in the Marina area. I was told that there was a huge traffic jam along the roads leading to the gardens and the entire car park was full during the 2012 New Year's countdown.

Almost eighty car parks lots were parked with cars by 10 pm, and along the Skyline Promenade were already gathered with more than a hundred people. I brought Sandy along because she had never seen fireworks in the sky before and I felt it would be an eye-opener for her.

So when the fireworks started and lit up the night sky at around 10:29 pm, I was thinking of Katy Perry's "Fireworks". I started taking the photos and videos and was so immersed in the moment that I didn't realize Sandy was no longer at my feet. She probably clamoured my legs with her claws in reaction to the crackling sound but I didn't sense it at all. Fortunately, a group of Muslims kids in the vicinity screamed because they suddenly found Sandy huddling and cowering in fear at the center of their group and I dashed over to cradle and rock her in my arms. I wouldn't know how to find her in this dark night if I really lost her in the gardens. Fortunately, it didn't happen. So Sandy girl, there would be no more fireworks for you.

The last of the fireworks ended around 10:33 pm and the crowds started to disperse. I too left soon after.
