GINNY AND SANDY

they didn't seem too excited about the food
It was a while since I last posted photos of Ginny and Sandy. They have been with me to restaurants, cinema and Bay South and Bay East.

BAY EAST

First, we had a few weeks of very cool winds for January. But the weather gradually became hotter and drier without any rain. For the first time, many parts of Bay East turned brown. The single-stemmed palms were badly affected and many, if not all, of them had their lower or older fronds becoming dried.

Like a friend commented, everywhere looked parched. I wonder if this afternoon's brief drizzle helped in any way?

GREY HERON

The Grey Heron is a common sight along the Bay East skyline promenade and I often spot it on the rip-rap wall. The plumage colour is greyish and blends in well with the granite colour of the wall and I usually noticed it only when it flew out into the water away from the rock bund when the buggy drove past the area. There must be at least a pair there.

Anyway, it is not often that I can manage to take photos of this big but shy bird, especially when it is in flight.
