INNOVATION

I saw these colourful stairs recently in the MRT. It is an innovative idea to paint the steps with rainbow colours to encourage people to take the stairs instead of escalator.

It reminded me of a series of innovation put up by this famous company, overseas of course, to get the public to correct their bad social habits. I saw these video clips during our company's Culture Day. One depicted painting the subway stairs like the keyboard of the piano and it was complete with sound when the keys were stepped on. It attracted a whole lot of people, including the oldies, to use the stairs as they were fascinated by the musical stairs. Another idea was implemented on a dustbin to stop littering.

Comparing the two, I certainly feel ours is not as effective. But it still brightened day to see it.
