I mentioned that I would provide an update on the developing fruit of the Glory Lily, so here they are. I will wait and see how big the fruit will develop and what happens to it.


I also bought the Afgekia sericea (common name: Silky Afgekia) climber recently and along with it came a red stink bug. Just take a look at that cute face with big eyes and Elvis Presley hairstyle. Anyway, I hope the bug will survive although I doubt so since it is not in a garden environment.


The Calanthe leafy shoot is growing slowly but surely.

IPOMOEA CARNEA

This is an interesting morning glory that is not a climber. From the Convolvulceae Family and known by its common name Pink Morning Glory, this plant can grow into a huge sprawling, prostrate shrub.

The 1st two photos show a single plant with lots of floral buds and numerous opened pink trumpet flowers.

But this shrub attracts the pest stink bug. I remember this pest used to be very common in my Primary School, and everything we see them, we love to crush them and that is when they unleashed a very overpowering nasty odour. This is their defence mechanism against predation by other bigger predators up the food chain and web.
