This is the first time I am taking photos at the SMU vicinity.


I posted about this water feature before although it was from a different view. In fact, I showed some photos of it from under the water feature inside the Bras Basah circle line MRT station.


Anyway, I am perplexed regarding the design of the landscape bed next to the water feature. There are so many saplings of the Tecoma within the bed and there was a weird looking and heavily pruned Rain Tree with multiple shoots. The circular building facility cladded with panels of the Tristellateia australasiae is one of the main features of this building located in the center of this business district.

Just next to the Strophanthus that I posted previously, are these Phyllanthus cuscutiflorus and Tristellateia australasiae (common name: Maiden Jealousy), which ironically is a native climber.

I planted a combination of Phyllanthus cuscutiflorus and Tristellateia australasiae along this handicapped access ramp next to the Visitor's Centre of HortPark.

The latter has an interesting common name Maiden Jealousy! Most gardeners would be familiar with this common yellow flower woody climber because it is a non-demanding pest free climber that regularly rewards the grower with beautiful flowers.
