FOXTAIL PALM

We were at Beach Road for lunch and I saw these few  flowers on the ground. They were from the Foxtail Palm (scientific name: Wodyetia bifurcata) that I planted years ago. Interestingly, the flowers were faintly fragrant.

I planted these Foxtail Palms (scientific name: Wodyetia bifurcata) at Beach Road for almost ten years now and look how tall they are now? It's amazing just to stand below them.

To the many people who walk past plants in the landscape, they are merely plants and they would hardly notice them. To the people who planted them, they are not just plants, they represent the passion of the city's gardeners and the legacy to our people.

WODYETIA BIFURCATA

The Wodyetia bifurcata (common name: Foxtail Palm; Family: Arecaceae/Palmae) used to be one of my favourite palms for landscaping. The palm in the photo was fruiting as evident by the bunches of green and orangey fruits.
