CLERODENDRUM WALLICHII & PSEUDOGYNOXYS CHENOPODIODES

It is not often that the Clerodendrum wallichii flowers so well here in Singapore. The recent cool weather must have brought on this incredible flowering at the Colonial Garden. Anyway, the best flowering I have seen of this species was in Chiang Mai.

I am very glad that the Pseudogynoxys chenopodiodes is taking off here in the Malay Garden.

CHINESE NEW YEAR

You know Chinese New Year is here when you walk down Albert Mall and you see stalls and stalls selling a whole range of real and artificial plants, especially annuals e.g. Celosia, Marigold, to usher in the lunar new year. So I took the opportunity to take some photos when the crowd was still thin in the early hours of the day.

This was the only time when I feel that the scale of sales and range of plants here in Singapore are almost like Chiang Mai's flower markets.

When I walked back to the place for lunch, it was thronging with people and it was hard to browse through the stalls, much less take photos.

THAILAND - CHIANG MAI

I found more photos on the trip to Chiang Mai, so more photos are attached here.

The first 2 photos were taken on the flight from Singapore to Bangkok's international Suvarnabhumi Airport. Before touching down, I could see the agricultural farmlands at the coastal areas.

We then took the connecting flight to Chiang Mai's airport. I love it that the route to the hotel passed by a canal and surprisingly there were fountains along certain parts of it.

Then there was the hotel room I stayed in and the vacant land across the hotel where I found the Castor Oil plants. It was also the window where I watched the sun rose above the sky. Finally the last photo was the one showing the lunch that we had.
