CHORISIA SPECIOSA

The Chorisia at the Hub flowered several times a year sporadically.

CHORISIA (VARIEGATED)

These are variegated leaves of the Chorisia trees at the Hub. I love the downhanging rain drops along the branches, petioles and leaves.

CHORISIA SPECIOSA (VARIEGATED)

Just when I thought I have seen lots of unusual plants, something interesting comes along. I have never actually seen the flowers of the variegated Chorisia speciosa and it is the first time the variegated cucumber-like fruits appear everywhere on these trees at the Hub. I bet the flowers are small, inconspicuously coloured and night-pollinated by bats.

CHORISIA SPECIOSA

It is always a delight to see these Silk Floss Trees in flower. The flowers come in an array of colours ranging from light pink to dark pink with white to yellow throats. Aren't the flowers gorgeous?

CHORISIA AND PSEUDOBOMBAX

Looking at the date on the photos, I have been more than 2 months late in posting them. The flowering of the Chorisia is long over. There is quite a variety of Chorisia trees at the Hub and regrettably they don't flower in synchrony. Otherwise it would be such a spectacle to watch all the different varieties of flowers in bloom. Even the Pseudobombax has different coloured flowers that bloom at different times.

YELLOW DELONIX REGIA AND CHORISIA SPECIOSA

The yellow form of the Red Flame is hardly as spectacular as the original Delonix regia.

The Chorisia speciosa was also flowering recently. Nice!

CHORISIA SPECIOSA

These Choriosa are rather satisfying to watch and different trees flower at different times, unlike some other trees such as Alstonia scholaris, with synchronized flowering.
