PAVETTA

I posted about the showy white-flowered Duperrea scabrida or otherwise known as D. pavettifolia, planted at the Silver Garden.

From the Rubiaceae Family, this is another unusual plant from Thailand, which is apparently less showy. If I am not wrong, this should be another genus known as Pavetta.

SHOOTING STARS

No one knows the name of this plant. I was told it is called Ixora 'Nong Nooch' but I could not find anything on this on the web.

Anyway, I felt the flowers look like shooting stars or arrows and the white flowers give it a very pure look.

There is only one of this in HortPark and I have not seen it anywhere else in Singapore or overseas.

NB (6 Aug 10): The name of this tropical evergreen forest shrub is confirmed to be Duperrea scabrida.
