CHRISTMAS DECOR

It is that time of the year again. You know Christmas is just around the corner when everywhere you go, you see all the Christmas decor and hear the carols and jingles which help to lift the spirits up.

From the Jurong East IMM to Tampines IKEA to Suntec City, they are all ushering in the festive occasion with the decor.

CONTAINER GARDEN

Recently, I bought a new glass container from IKEA and planted it up with the following plants:

  • Saxifraga stolonifera
  • Fittonia cultivars
  • Hedera helix (variegated Ivy)
When the Saxifraga grows bigger, it would cover the other plants and droop over the edge of the tall container. Meanwhile, these plants act as fillers to the wide container. Anyway, I have not decided where to place it yet though, so it shall remain on my table first.

CHRISTMAS DECOR

Taken at Courts, this looks like a double-helix structure with white snowflakes and white and red balls. Elsewhere at Ikea, there were 3 christmas trees decorated with the same red and white theme. There were also lots of hearts on the trees. How sweet!

PUSSY WILLOW

I forgot to mention this earlier but I purchased this Pussy Willow (Salix caprea) from IKEA on 21 Jan 10 together with the other numerous plants.

Anyway, these photos taken on 6 Feb 10 showed the newly sprouting leaves and flowers.
