This is an atypical plant from the genus Chlorophytum, that consists mainly of the Spider Plants. This broad-leaved monocotyledonous plant has green leaves and orange leaf bases that makes it one of the more interesting plants to be grown in semi-shade conditions.The Chlorophytum amaniense Engl. (synonym: C. amaniense 'Fire Flash', C. orchidantheroides; common name: Mandarin Plant, Fire Flash, Fire Glory, Orange Spider Plant; Family: Agavaceae) does not send out young plantlets, unlike the C. comosum, and thus cannot be propagated by the same means.
