Coming out from the Clarke Quay MRT this morning, one of the things that greeted me was the colourful iconic MICA building. The painted windows have been there for quite a while now and is a beautiful way to bring out the interesting architecture of the building.The use of various colours to paint buildings is not new and I also spotted this design element at several places in the area. One of the first that I noticed was the colourful spiral staircases behind the two-storey shophouses along Rochor Road.
Even Rochor Centre's 4 HDB blocks were painted with graduations of red, yellow, blue and green and the colourful effect can be seen from as far away as Little India MRT's bus stop.
