This is a less common cycad than the Cycas revoluta. But being prehistoric plants from the Gymnosperm group, they are non-flowering plants that produce naked seeds. 

The fruit is like a cone and is known as a strobilus (pl. strobili).

CYCAS PECTINATA

This gymnosperm Cycas pectinata recently sprouted a whole ring of new healthy fronds. I was surprised that they were not eaten up. Perhaps pesticide application was finally used to control the pest attack?
