I saw these beautiful silver and gold lichens on several overseas trips.The most recent trip where I saw them was at Cameron Highlands last year. It was growing all over the rose plants beside the hotel where I stayed.
Anyway, I remember studying that they are pollution indicators and grow in areas with no pollution. Their absence is indicative of a pollutive environment. In Singapore, we don't see them anywhere because of the heavy pollution.
