FITTONIA VERSCHAFFELTII - ROT

For those people familiar with or have terrariums, this staple Mosaic Plant, Nerve Plant or Snakeskin Plant is popularly used to provide provide texture and colour. Its requirement and preference for high humidity makes it an excellent plant in such a microclimate.

However, under wet conditions or when the leaves are excessively wet even when the soil is not e.g. from spraying water, there is a tendency for the plant to rot. This is what happens to the plant.

Some links on the plant are attached below for reference:

EUPHORBIA TITHYMALOIDES

I wasn't happy that I didn't check out the cause of the patches of yellow Euphorbia tithymaloides turning pink the last time. So I found the time to go down to the site again and viola, I was right.

The pinkish plants were the ones with basal rots and damages. So instead of dying, it dried up and turned a rosy pink. How romantic!
