TIONG BAHRU PARK

I used to manage this site years ago. Some things have changed slightly over time but some things never changed.

The children's playground is rather unique in that the tilted train is much unlike the play equipment in other parks because this set was customized and fabricated for this playground. So this is the only one in the whole world.

Until today, the mound is still not serving its original purpose and the park is in need of some relandscaping to spruce it up. The pond used to be planted with a wide variety of plants e.g. Coleus, and now most plants have given up to more common ones. And most of the Schizolobium parahyba are not growing well because I was told they are standing in wet soils. One of the plant highlights Megaskepasma erythrochlamys have also been reduced in terms of the scale. Back in those days, a whole clump of them was there to greet visitors near one of the park entrances.

It was interesting to walk down the path of memories.
