IXORA ACUMINATA

This unusually big-leaved Ixora photo was taken on 26 Jan 10 within HortPark's Butterfly Garden enclosure.

I am doubtful of the identity of this Ixora. Anyway it produces white fragrant flowers with orange anthers, which were dropped soon after. Interesting? I thought so. I think I have only seen it flowered twice since I planted it about a year ago.

Another 2 plants planted at the same enclosure at another corner and at the Irrigation Pond did not flower during this time, so I wonder what is the environmental trigger for this.
