MARINA SOUTH PROMENADE

This is part of the old Marina South Promenade.

There are some of the nicest Frangipani (scientific name: Plumeria) trees still housed there for the use in the gardens and this hot pink flower cultivar is just one of them.

A decade before the development of the Gardens by the Bay gardens, this was part of a site, that extends all the way along the promenade from the Marina South Promenade to the promontory at Marina Boulevard, for the monumental mass tree planting of 2,000 trees and palms by 81 constituencies, I think, on 7 Nov 1999 to mark and commemorate the crossing of the millenium from 1999 to 2000.
