BAUHINIA SEMIBIFIDA VAR. PERKINSAE

We got this fast-growing big-leaved climbing Bauhinia identified sometime ago and the name came back as B. semibifida var. perkinsae.

Whilst I cannot say for a certainty whether the name is correct, we have to accept this name, at least for now.

The orangey new leaf flushes of this Bauhinia are so pretty and I chose to grow it precisely for its gorgeously beautiful leaves. The flowers are inconspicuous, as evident by the series of photos here, and the last photo showed a developing fruit.

This climber was propagated by our nursery via marcotting because stem cuttings didn't seem to work well with this plant. Currently, I don't find this climber on sale anywhere in our local nurseries.
