DISSOTIS ROTUNDIFOLIA

This is a creeping plant that looks like the Melastoma malabathricum and has similar coloured petals and yellow-white stamens remotely resembling the Clappertonia ficifolia.

From the Melastomataceae Family, this herbaceous perennial is known by its common name Spanish Shawl, Pinklady, Trailing Tibouchina and Dwarf Tibouchina. The synonyms are also aplenty Heterotis rotundifolia, Osbeckia rotundifolia and Tibouchina heterocentrons.

The 3-veined small leaves are rather pretty on its own and this plant can be propagated easily by cuttings.
