The common name is Rose Marara, Scrub Rosewood, and its synonyms are Weinmannia lachnocarpa and Geissois lachnocarpa. The Family is the very obscure Cunoniaceae.
Little did I know that this is actually a huge Australian rainforest tree that can grow up to 40 m tall with prominent buttress roots. The flowers are supposedly without petals.
