BEGONIA

Begonias are one of my all time favourites.

This double-petaled one, when viewed close-up, looked like rose flowers to me. Too bad the flowers are so small. The top photo was taken on 2 Dec 08 and the bottom one on 12 Dec 08 respectively.

Thanks to a colleague, I found out that these Begonia semperflorens can actually be planted outdoors in our climate. It is a challenge to do so and the location has to be chosen carefully, especially when the soft stems rot easily when there is too much water.
