COMMON MIME

I saw this dead Common Mime butterfly wedged between the metal bars at the nursery propagation house's ceiling fan on 11 Jan 10.

The wings look pristine, except for the part caught by the bar, indicating that it was not at this adult stage for long.

Did it get suck into the rotating fan, whilst flapping its wings frantically to try and escape the rotating monster, or did it fly directly into it, I wonder?

Regardless, it is not a beautiful and dignified way to die in this manner, for a creature that already has a short life span of only about a month.
