CLITORIA TERNATEA

This is a White Butterfly Pea that has double-petaled flowers. So it is a double treasure since the common one is the blue single-petaled flower variety.

Commonly and easily grown from seeds, they are so free flowering under full sun conditions and needs little attention to coax it to flower. It may suffer from an occasional bout of white flies but otherwise, it is easy to care for this plant. Due to its fast growth, it may be necessary to give it some fertilizers regularly to ensure the soil is not completed depleted of the essential nutrients.

Whilst the blue flowers variety is used to extract its dye to colour the nonya kuehs, the white variety is known to treat goitre. A link on the coloured varieties of the Butterfly Pea is attached below:
