IMPATIENS BALSAMINA

I posted about the explosive seed pods of the Impatiens balsamina in an earlier entry. These are the actual plants.

Weren't they just pretty? Balsams are not newly introduced plants and have been around for a long time, and my mum used to love to grow them. This batch of balsams were grown by someone who has a passion for plants, without which we would all not be able to appreciate this beautiful bed of pink flowers.

The flowers do look like small roses up close, don't they?
