From the small leaves on this plant, it definitely reminds me of the Tibouchina granulosa (common name: Glory Tree) from the Melastomataceae Family although this one has pinkish flowers. In fact, they are closely related to the Melastoma malabathricum.I found the following links on the pink T. granulosa. However, the flowers do look different.
