LAGERSTROEMIA FLORIBUNDA

I seldom talk about trees or post about them because it is always a challenge to take photos of them. They are usually quite large and the background is often not pretty for the photos.

Anyway, these are photos of the Lagerstroemia floribunda (common name: Crepe Myrtle) from the Lythraceae Family. The new leaf flushes are a vibrant red and make the tree very attractive when it is entirely covered with them The flowers are unusual in that the colours change from mauve to white as they age.
