This Curcuma was bought during SGF 10 in July and these photos were taken on 18 Aug 10 and 27 Aug 10 respectively. By yesterday, I could no longer stand the drying up inflorescence, so I finally cut it away.The good news was, another new shoot was out and by yesterday, the first leaf was already big and the apical shoot is growing the second leaf.
One thing that I noted was there were a lot of black aphids gathering and breeding in exponential proportions on the apical shoot and I had to resort to wiping them off frequently over the last few days. It seems like this aphid is specific to this Curcuma and I seriously hope it would not spread to other plants.
