FLOWER DOME PART 5

After seeing the Phoenix canariensis from the Canary Islands, visitors were greeted with a whole palette of orchids at the flower field. Some of them, such as the Cirrhopetalum and Lycaste, were showcased to great effect against a backdrop of Amethyst crystals.

The roof fins also opened up to shield the rays of the hot sun away from the visitors within the flower dome. Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew also visited the cool dry conservatory on the 14 Nov 11.

• white flower Rhododendron
• Fuchsia cultivar
• Araucaria araucana (common name: Monkey Puzzle Tree; Family: Araucariaceae)
