CALADIUM BICOLOR

Ever so often, I learn new things. In this instance, I learnt that it is alright to grow the aroid Caladium bicolor (Fancy Leaf Caladium) in full sunlight as long as the soil is well-drained but well-watered. Sounds ironical? Certainly not.

I always felt Caladium does not perform well in open sun areas. How wrong was I! The heat may be scorchingly hot, but as long as the Caladium is grown in humus rich soil and is well-watered, you can grow beds of this plant in the open. Of course, when the drought comes, one must be prepared to give these plants plenty of water to drink. That said, the ideal soil to grow them should be porous and should not be too clayey.

Now I have more ideas!
