IXORA ACUMINATA

I only knew it by the name Ixora acuminata. This must be an Ixora with the largest leaf. But the leaf tip does not look acuminate.

This is a slow growing Ixora. Since planting it more than one and a half year ago, it did not put out many leaves. In fact, it flowered a couple of times and the flowers are interesting, as evident in these photos taken on 27 Feb 10. Since I mentioned about this plant in an earlier post, I will not go too much into the details. But the red sepals are a strong contrast to the white flowers.
