CRATOXYLUM MAINGAYI

This Cratoxylum maingayi was planted at the Flora Stitches of HortPark a few months and it finally flowered under this recent hot weather.

It is sometimes dubbed the Singapore Sakura because close up, one would not fail to notice the red leaf flushes and countless pink flowers.

The flowers are actually attractive to bees too. I guess they do appreciate the beauty of this tree as much as I do. I hope they go well in our climate, gain more popularity and get planted more in our streetscape or parks.
