FICUS DESTRUENS

This unusual brown-leaved Ficus destruens (Rusty Fig) at the Singapore Botanic Gardens was fruiting recently.

It is a hemi-epiphytic strangling fig that seems to be endemic to Queensland's wet tropical rainforest. Apparently, it can grow up to 40 m in its original habitat.

Nice!
